What we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Version 1.0 · Last updated 14 October 2026

The short version

We collect the details you give us so we can answer you, take your order, and keep our records. We do not sell your details to anyone. We only ask for what we actually need.

What we collect

  • Your name, phone number and, if you give it, your email address.
  • The details of your order, including what you bought and how you asked to pay.
  • The content of any message you send us through the quote, repair or contact forms, including any device you mention and the problem you describe.
  • Your delivery address or area, if you choose delivery.
  • A hashed form of your IP address, used only to reduce spam and abuse on the forms.
  • The page you were on when you submitted a form.

Why we collect it, and on what basis

  • To respond to your enquiry and give you a quote — necessary to take steps at your request.
  • To take, deliver and support your order — necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To keep our own business and tax records — a legal obligation on us.
  • To block spam and abuse on the public forms — our legitimate interest in keeping the forms usable.
  • To send you order updates where you have given us an email address — necessary to perform our contract.

Payment details

We do not collect card numbers or bank account passwords, and we never see your full mobile-money PIN. For mobile money we ask you to send us the transaction reference so we can match the payment to your order.

Who else sees your details

We use a small number of suppliers, and they see only what they need to do their part:

  • Supabase, which hosts our database and stores product photographs.
  • Vercel, which hosts this website and serves it to you.
  • A payment provider, if and when you choose to pay online.
  • An email provider, if you give us an email address and we have one configured, to send you order updates.

Where our systems are

Our website and database are hosted outside Malawi. If you send us information from outside Malawi, it will be transferred to the country where those systems are hosted in order to serve you. We rely on contractual safeguards for those transfers.

How long we keep things

Order records are kept for as long as our business and tax records require. Enquiry messages are kept while the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can refer back to it. You can ask us to delete an enquiry at any time, although we may have to keep records where the law requires it.

Your rights

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy.
  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
  • Ask us to delete your information where we are not required to keep it.
  • Object to us using your information for a particular purpose.
  • Withdraw consent, where we are relying on it.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS. Access to the admin area requires a password and is restricted to staff. We limit who can see customer details, and we do not send you to any third-party payment page unless you have chosen to pay online.

No system is perfect. If you believe your details have been misused, tell us immediately and we will do what we can to limit it.

Children

This site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Cookies

We use only the cookies that are needed to make the site work: your cart, and the session that keeps you signed in to the admin area. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner on this site.

Making a request

Call 0884 269 287, email fixitsolutions69@gmail.com, or write to us at P.O. Box 1421, Blantyre. Tell us what you would like and we will deal with your request. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Malawi Data Protection Commissioner.

Governing law

This policy is written to be consistent with the Data Protection Act of the Republic of Malawi. The courts of Malawi have jurisdiction over disputes about it.
